We have taken the existing fun web content of Little Brush Big Brush series and came up with an interactive game that would actually change kids' habits. We created a chatbot and 5 AR Effect masks using Spark AR for Messenger.

As one of the first Messenger extensions to use AR for learning, the experience shows there’s so much more to AR than puking rainbows.

Design Direction

I was responsible for designing and overseeing the whole project - from the game mechanic to the asset production -  making sure the whole experience was simple and seamless for both the parents and kids.

I help to define the chatbot's user journey and the core mechanic of the AR game, I then defined the Art Direction - helping translate the characters into the AR environment - and led the design of the entire production from the web platform to the chatbot assets to the final AR game.

I led a team of 2 designers, 2 developers, and a sound designer to bring the whole experience to life.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Production
The project took around 5 months to build. We had to revive the already existing characters and storytelling elements from the web series by adapting them to fit the new concept.
Challenges
Nailing the face of the animals in the AR effects was quite challenging as we had to find the correct balance between the right amount of animal/human features to be displayed.
Results
The experience rolled-out in several countries like Vietnam, France, Thailand, with more than 90% of the users playing with all the characters. The project has been recoginsed with a SOTD on FWA.
