AKQA and Ermenegildo Zegna, the world’s largest luxury menswear brand, partnered to build a digital legacy for this historic brand, redefining the way they use digital across their business.
The project began with a shoot starring Robert De Niro and up-and-coming actor McCaul Lombardi at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. AKQA’s London office built an interactive platform for a global series titled Defining Moments. On the platform, the most powerful user-generated stories are rewarded with a made-to-measure Zegna suit. A basic version of the site was built to support 10 language options and thousands of submissions in just 10 days.
I was responsible for leading the entire look and feel of the project, working closely with the Creative Director. My role was to craft the design and experience of the digital platform. This included working on visual design, information architecture, user experience, rapid prototyping, motion design and art direction.

Bringing films to life.
The shoot and production of the film were a key part of the project.
I worked closely with the Creative Director to edit the two films, each featuring Robert De Niro and McCaul Lombardi, before the final release.
