Magnum Pleasure Fair is an AR game that builds upon the success of Magnum Pleasure Store by creating an interactive and playable version of the pop-up store.

Consumers wanting to play the Magnum Pleasure Fair will have to scan a unique code into Snapchat when they visit a store. The game aims to turn any visit into a playful experience, bringing to life this year ‘Never Stop Playing’ campaign.

In the AR game, the player has to move their head from side to side and open their mouth in order to capture as many of the limited edition LookBook Magnums as possible before the chocolate bubbles fill the screen.

Creative Direction

I was responsible for conceiving, designing and overseeing the whole project - from the game mechanic to the asset production - making sure the whole experience was simple for any user and in line with the brand strategy.

I defined the Art Direction - helping bring the brand and the elements of the pleasure store into the AR game - and I led a team of 3D artists, developers and a sound designer to bring the whole experience to life.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Production
The project took around 1 months to build. We tested the user flow and the game mechanic by building a prototype and then we concentrated the efforts on the assets production.
Challenges
To push the boundaries of Snap Lens and make the game experience really unique, we build an engine to emulate the physics for the balls. When the ice creams reached the bottom, new chocolate balls will pop into the screen. We had to faithfully reproduce all the Magnum products into the AR environment keeping the size as lower as possible.
Results
The game was played 582 times on the first day of the opening.
